EDM is famous for its ability to fuse contrasting genres of music into one powerful and memorable sound. However, not many do it quite the way that Australian electro-rock pioneers Pendulum do. The group brings together the best of both into a category all its own. Comprised of Perth artists Rob Swire, Gareth McGillen and Paul ‘ El Hornet’ Harding, Pendulum has burst with fury from its Australian roots into the UK music scene and more recently, the American scene.
Beginning their work with label 31 Records, the trio released ‘Vault’, a track that rocketed to the top as a hit in 2003, receiving acclimation as ‘the best track of 2003’ from Knowledge Magazine.
After great success in their homeland of Australia, the group relocated to the UK, where they continued to catch the attention of the world for their unique and catchy mesh of sound.
Great successes in the UK escalated to live visual shows highly anticipated across the globe. After a performance on Radio1, and a series of sold out shows in the UK, Pendulum furthered on to burst into the American music scene, selling out 13 shows, destroying Coachella and even were given a headlining appearance at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival.
Now, after being refined by work around the world, Pendulum brings their electro rock fusion to FreakNight 2011. Take advantage of seeing Pendulum while they’re here because this group is setting the new standard for EDM fusion.
